Orthodontics is the dental specialty that deals with malocclusions (irregularity of teeth) and abnormalities of jaws. Orthodontic treatment includes preventive, interceptive and corrective procedures to establish esthetics, function and stability of the dentition and facial contours.

The Orthodontic unit at the National Hospital Kandy provides a consultant-led service for the treatment of patients with a wide range of malocclusion. We work closely with other dental specialties such as maxillofacial surgery, restorative dentistry and pediatric dentistry to provide more comprehensive care for our patients..
